Quasi Static forging process

Quasi Static forging process

Quasi Static forging process

(OP)
Hi,

I have just started getting the hang of Abaqus and was trying to simulate a quasi static forging process with a sinusoidal die profile. I have used a dynamic Explicit step and specified the surface to surface contact between all the right surfaces. Yet, when the simulation runs, the die simply goes through the blank. What could I be doing wrong?

I've been doing the examples given in the official documentation. So I've got some amount of practice.

The normal interaction was specified. Could the time period of the step be the reason?

RE: Quasi Static forging process

I can't think of a reason. Perhaps, if you check the .dat/.msg files and let us know the messages you see in them, I may get a better picture of what's happening. Also, .sta can be quite useful. See if there are any SDIs; if there aren't any, contact isn't occurring.

hi
i think your movable part is rigid body and you have to go in your contact setting and cheang that node to surface. PLZ try it
