cascade versus multistage

cascade versus multistage

cascade versus multistage

(OP)
good morning!

could you please simply explain the difference between a cascade system, and a multi-stage refrigeration system?

if i were to see a schematic of the two systems, what feature would tell me clearly whether this was cascade or multi-stage?

in a cascade system, is there a consideration between a lower and a higher BP fluid, as to which side of the common exchanger would each be?

why is a flash chamber considered more efficient than an intercooler?

i tried this question in the general section but did not get an answer

thank you very much

aamir raza

RE: cascade versus multistage

Cascade system is series cooling, multi-stage is parallel cooling.
