Space Pilot Pro compatible with NX9

Space Pilot Pro compatible with NX9

All our designers have a space pilot pro. Works great in NX8 but we have found an issue in NX9.
In NX9 you cannot set the rotation point. In the 3Dconnexion ribbon the buttons are greyed out. Using RMB in the graphics window and selecting "Set Rotation Point" gives the following error.
"None of the actions specified for this button were registered. Use Information -> Custome Menu Bar -> Report Tool for more information."

Has anyone found a fix for this? I have been in contact with 3Dconnexion and they currently support NX8.5.
They had me make some changes within Customer Defaults to no avail.

RE: Space Pilot Pro compatible with NX9

I'm not sure what it is that your asking? I use a Space Pilot Pro and I see no real differenc between NX 8.0 and NX 9.0 in terms of rotating about a set 'Rotate Point'.

I can no longer set my rotation point as was able to do in NX8.
In the graphics window you can tap RMB and get a list of things you can do.
One of them is set rotation point (3 up from the bottom). When I select this then the error "None of the actions specified for this button were registered. Use Information -> Custom Menu Bar -> Report Tool for more information." pops up.

but, but, but, -that specific option has nothing to do with with the Space pilot, it's a native NX option.
-try disabling the driver / disconnect the spacepilot etc to see if it depends on the spacepilot driver ?
My Space pilot Pro works, in 9.0.1, with and without with the option "Set rotation reference".

Tomas

I have NO problems selecting the 'Set Rotation Reference' option on the MB3 view pop-up menu.

Hi.

Usually this (greyed out buttons) happens when the 3Dconnexion DLL can't be loaded.
Check your system variables if they are still pointing to the correct path.

Problem resolved. We had a modified "ug_view_popup.men" file in which we made changes so that when you held down RMB you had other options than the default. This file seems to have messed up the options when you tapped MB3.

Thank you for your suggestions.
