Adding new thread standards to existing NX Threads library

Adding new thread standards to existing NX Threads library

Adding new thread standards to existing NX Threads library

(OP)
Hi All,

I need to add some threads to the NX default threads library as per our standards. Is it possible to add ?

I found an MS excel file named "thread_standard_dat" in the location C:\Programfiles\Siemens\NX 8.5\STAMPING_TOOLS\ediewizard\templates.

This excel file has all the default threads in NX. Can I add our standards to this Excel file ?

Thanks in advance
Sandeep

RE: Adding new thread standards to existing NX Threads library

Thread is defined in c:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 9.0\UGII\thd_metric.dat for "Thread" command and c:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 9.0\UGII\modeling_standards\nx502_Threaded_Hole_Standard.xml for "Threaded Hole" command.

NX 8.5.3.3

RE: Adding new thread standards to existing NX Threads library

Also, if you add new standards to the thd_metric.dat, don't forget to speclify them in the customer defaults. Standards added to the file must also be added to the list at Customer Defaults > Modeling > Feature Settings.
If you want standard added to the nx502_Threaded_Hole_Standard.xml to be selected by default by the Threaded Hole tool, specify it at Customer Defaults > Feature Parameters > Threaded Hole.
