partition in abaqus

(OP)
Hello, i'm new in this forum and also in using abaqus.
I'm working on a complex 3D geometry, but i have a probleme with the mesh: The program says: the selected regions cannot be meshed automatiquely using the assined element shapes.
can someone explain to me why I need to partition my part when it is orange?
do I have to partition the whole part or only the parts where I want the
most accurate result?
Is there any "clever" way of partition a complex 3D geometry?
thank you

RE: partition in abaqus

The best way to mesh it is if the regions are either green or yellow so a structured mesh can be used, though that may not necessarily give an even mesh in every situation. If it's orange then you can only use tetrahedral elements. Unless it's particularly complex geometry then you can improve the region type by partitioning using natural points that may occur on the regions, trying to obtain regions that are square or perhaps 5 sided swept regions. There may be some tutorials available that'll give you some tips or perhaps attach the geometry here.
