Which method to calculate?

Which method to calculate?

Which method to calculate?

(OP)
Hello All

We are designing a high pressure mag meter for the O&G industry upto 2500 lbs flange rating.

The meter will have measuring electrodes (316) inserted inside the bore through the wall to the outside where a connection runs to the electronics. The electrode head is 12 mm dia and 4.7 mm thick, these dimensions were taken from an older design.

I'm confused as ancient documents show the previous calculations used classical plate theory. I have looked at EN 12516-2 page 33 and this also looks like thin plate theory which cannot apply due to the ratio of the part, any ideas?
