Flow Coefficient Calculation

Flow Coefficient Calculation

Flow Coefficient Calculation

(OP)
I am trying to calculate the required Cv for my system. I am using 4 SMC cylinders with the following specs:
Bore Dia: 32mm
Stroke: 75mm
Rod Dia: 16mm
Stroke Time: 2 seconds

The 4 cylinders will be connected to a single solenoid valve. The cylinders will be in parallel. I know how to calculate the Cv for a single cylinder system but am not sure about the process for multiple cylinders in parallel.

Thanks!

RE: Flow Coefficient Calculation

I guess it is the solenoid valve that you are trying to size. The flow it sees is simply 4 x the flow of a single cylinder. If stroke time is important, then oversize and add flow control to each line.
Cheers,
John

Ok.. that is what I thought but wanted to verify.
