Error: System not authorized for geometry modeling engines

Error: System not authorized for geometry modeling engines

Error: System not authorized for geometry modeling engines

(OP)
I am receiving this obscure error while trying to edit surfaces in a model:

"Unable to complete command. Your system is not authorized for Geometry Modeling Engines or you have temporarily disabled them."

Has anyone ever seen this?

Thanks,
R. Eric Lee

RE: Error: System not authorized for geometry modeling engines

Hi,

Check your license or reinstall Femap seems to be the best solution.

Regards.

RE: Error: System not authorized for geometry modeling engines

Go to File - Preferences, and click the Geometry/Model tab. Make sure your geometry engine is set to Parasolid. This is a hold-over from when FEMAP supported both ACIS and Parasolid. Since most users just set it to Parsolid and forget it, it really doesn't get used much any more. There is a chance that it somehow got toggled to our very old FEMAP geometry engine, in this state you can't do certain solid modeling operations. Just set it back. If it still doesn't work, you've got a licensing or installation issue, i.e. somehow a Parasolid support .DLL got deleted or something. Let me know if you can't get it working.

Mark.
