Silane Thermal Barrier calculation

Silane Thermal Barrier calculation

Silane Thermal Barrier calculation

(OP)
Hello all,

I'm hoping someone would we willing to help me out with the following calculation: I need to calculate the heat transfer through a "barrier" that is used to mitigate a possible silane jet fire. The barrier consists of two layers of expanded galvanized metal that forms a convoluted surface. The layers have 6 inch in between them. The barrier will stop high velocity particles, but we need to understand how much it will reduce the heat from the theoretical silane fire. The result would be a factor, say 80% of thermal radiation is stopped.
Any thoughts?

Many thanks!
