Force controlled push over analysis sap2000

Hi guys,

I've to do a "force controlled" push over analysis on a wood wall with sap2000. How can i do this? I am able to use "displacement controlled" analysis but not force controlled. I want to increase my top force until the wall is in crisis and the links reach their respective ultimate strength.

Thank you so much!

RE: Force controlled push over analysis sap2000

When you define your PUSH-OVER load case, it will allow you to choose force controled or displ. controled, right?

Yes, I can choose "displacement controlled" or "force controlled" in the analysis option. The problem is that I can only select "full load" in force controlled push over and If multiplastic link (hold down or angle bracket) has a softening behaviour there is no convergence and so the analysis never ends.

RE: Force controlled push over analysis sap2000

I have never done a force controled--that's my imagination.

this a quetsion for the tech support at CSI, they do answer such questions, they can even take a look at your model.
