converting 3-D desktop into a 2-D Cad file

converting 3-D desktop into a 2-D Cad file

(OP)
Is it possible to convert a 3-D Desktop image into a 2-D AutoCad file?  I never work in 2-D and have completed a 3-D design.  Problem is, I need the face of the design in 2-D.  It has a complexe face which I simply extruded through a thickness.  I just want the face in a 2-D file so I can then import it into CimCAD for a G-code conversion.  Anyone know how I can do this?  If so, please email the steps.  I'm very grateful.

RE: converting 3-D desktop into a 2-D Cad file

My English is not good, but I will try to explaine you.
First you must make a 2D view.
-Drawinng (menu)
- New view ( select view type : base ),answer the questions.
you can select " multiple " in this dialog box to have multiple views.
After you make your 2D view(s):
-type  Amviewout  at the command line.
Now you can save your view(s) in 2D cad file format.
If you have problem in making your view, ask me.
