how to calculate the torsional deflection of thin-walled beams considering buckling
how to calculate the torsional deflection of thin-walled beams considering buckling
(OP)
Hi all
I need to calculate the torsional deflection of a thin-walled beam of arbitrary section. Thin-walled beams behave like shells, so buckling is an important factor. Is there any equation to calculate the torsional deflection of thin-walled beams taking in consideration the buckling effect? I need an expression with the polar inertia moment. I also would like to have the reference of a book or something with that equation, so I can study the matter by myself
thanks in advance,
regards,

Make the finite element model. Solve it yourself. Stop repeating the question.

It's based on a method Fermat developed.
