NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

(OP)
it's nice that NX can convert its drawing file from prt to dwg and maintain layer info. the dimension style can be modified by autocad as well

some questions
1. in NX, NX gives each drawing sheet 256 layers!!!??? the layer name is simply 1.2.3.4.5, can it be renamed whatever i want?
2. i cannot see layer 0 in NX, after conversion, the viewport in AUTOCAD can be seen...which is in layer 0. why NX doesnt allow user to modify the visibility of viewport layer?

3. for each layer, is it possible to define dimension, annotation styles INDIVIDUALLY? say in layer 1, dimension is in blue color. in layer 2, annotation is in red color?

thanks again

RE: NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

  1. There are 256 layers available to the user in every NX part (1-256). You can create "layer categories" to rename and/or group layers as you see fit.
  2. There is no layer zero available to you, the user, in NX. If you want to make the drafting view borders invisible, go to Preferences -> Drafting -> View, and turn off the "Display Borders" option.
  3. Using a selection filter, you can select all the dimensions on the desired layer and change the style as you want. However, if you move a dimension from layer 1 to layer 2, the style will not change automatically. You must manage the object properties.

ver nice tricks!!

by the way, i can only create layer category, but i still cannot rename the layer name. Or the layer name cannot be re-named

also. defined the ballon color as red in the Preference-->Annotation dialog, and i double clicked onn the ballon to change its color to red. However, no effect took place. what's wrong with my operation

RE: NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

You can add one or more layers to a user defined category, but you cannot rename the layer.

Your drawing is set to monochrome (black & white) display. To change this, go to Preferences -> Visualization -> color/font and turn off the "monochrome display" in the "drawing part settings" section.

Nice trick, thanks for your efforts☺

RE: NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

You can change the color of the balloon, leader, and text independently as you have done in your file. To easily change all the elements to the same color at the same time, use Edit -> object display.

RE: NX prt ---> AutoCAD dwg pretty good, but have some questions

I tend to get better results going NX to dxf then save as a dwg in AutoCAD
