Hello everybody,
I’m working on the design of a gust generator for a University project. For this application I need rotating actuators able to generate a sinusoidal motion at frequency up to 10 Hz with an amplitude from + 10 degrees to -10 degree.
As long as my motors match the requirements in term of output torque and speed, do you think that this “back and forth” motion could be an issue for them?

Thanks for your reply. The maximum torque will be around 10 N.m, the peak speed about 110 Rpm and the overall maximum power required will be 50W. If I use a 200W motors at 48V (+ a gear head) I will be below the rated current. Do you think it would be large enough safety factor?

As long as your motor is capable of the rpm required, the peak torque required, and is rated above the rms torque required, then yes, it will remain dutifully happy and continue to work for you for its rated life.

My torque estimation is based on the maximum angular acceleration and the inertia of my system around the axis of rotation. Thanks for your replies, it's all I wanted to know.
