Hello All,

So I am working as a R&D engineer on a company, and recently developed an analytic model for the prediction of the mechanical behaviour of complex structures. The assumptions of the model are only valid for solid structures. However, the model may be particularly interesting for thin-walled beams, which can be considered shells. Which assumptions do I need to do in order to adapt the theory to shell structures? Or what are the differences between the mechanical behaviour of solid and shell structures?
