is there a way to get UG to only give me either the X or Y dimension verses automaticly giving me both which if they are several dim with the same X or Y they all end up doggleged

I guess I mean I only want the x dimension for a set of holes and the Y dim is O.OOO

RE: Ordinate dimensioning in NX 8 (probubly all versions)

I tried this in NX8.5, but I suspect that it is the same in other versions.
Here is the procedure:
1. place the view and then click the Ordinate Dimension command
2. click on the point, that has to be the origin for the ordinate dimensioning.
3. two dashed baselines will appear. One is for dimension in X direction, another for Y direction.
4. now click with right mouse button on the baseline (x or y), that you want to exclude from dimensioning. Select 'Set Baseline Inactive'.
5. now place the dimensions. The dimensions are placed in only one direction.

Hope, that this helps.

Exactly what I was looking for (& puzzled by) yesterday. Thanks!

RE: Ordinate dimensioning in NX 8 (probubly all versions)

Let me add, because I see no way to edit, that this works in NX 7.5
