valve box design

(OP)
hello,
we are laying a distribution lines of small town. we have 60 valve boxes of size, varies, 1mx1m to 1.5mx1.5m. usually we use standard drawings for these valve boxes, but I want to design my own valve box can any one help me how to design it? guidelines, manuals etc..
by the way I want it to be concrete valve box. Thank you

RE: valve box design

These "boxes" are generally manufactured with concrete. You need to talk to the local distributor of prefabricated concrete products and see what is available. Unless the box is very large and difficult to ship, these boxes are not custom made, but are precast in the factory. Round boxes are inherently stronger than square shapes.

RE: valve box design

you may want to seriously consider if you need all these vaults or manholes. you can install direct bury valves, the operators will require a 200mm round "box" which is really a pipe and is much cheaper than your manhole.
