Estimate Rebound Elastic Modulus

Estimate Rebound Elastic Modulus

Estimate Rebound Elastic Modulus

(OP)
I know that it is soil dependent, but is there any literature or experience that shows a correlation between elastic modulus and rebound elastic modulus in soil?

RE: Estimate Rebound Elastic Modulus

Only reference I know about rebound modulus is Smoltczyc (ed.), geotechnical engineering handbook, 2002, Wiley, but I must check, I remember something like 2-3 times higher, just browsed it but couldn't find the exact point of the bulky 3-volumes treatise. Of course it also depends upon the stress level, I had a few tests done but the increase wasn't so glamorous.

RE: Estimate Rebound Elastic Modulus

Ea= 2 times Eo for clay, 3 for silt and 4 for sands. Source : D60 Notice for design with pressuremeter by Louis Ménard.
