One Drew Ameroid booklet says that Liquid Coagulant is not to be used in High Pressure boilers. any ideas on why?
what other options are available for HP boilers?
thanx.

RE: liquid coagulant in HP boilers

I think they fear decomposition of the coagulant under the high pressure/temperature conditions (compare steam reforming). This way by-products such as formic and acetic acid are formed which can cause high cation conductivities in the steam.
If you condition the pH of your steam properly, there is no point in using coagulants.
