how do you move a datum leader/extension line side ways

how do you move a datum leader/extension line side ways

how do you move a datum leader/extension line side ways

(OP)
It has been asked before I'm sure. I saw some similar questions but no answer yet. here it goes:

I create a leader. After so doing I can move the datum letter box up and down but not side ways so that its leader line moves or extends. Instead the "stub" moves left or right. Also If I pick the root where the triangle is, it doesn't move. Move or transform also does not move the datum sideways only up or down. The only method so far is that I recreate the datum and pick another place for it to extend from. Maybe its not possible, can anyone put an end to the madness?

Thanks

Al

Yes Shift works.Thanks everyone!.

Just click to select, then click and drag on the letter box, finally press shift and that will take you from moving the box up/down to moving the box with its perpendicular leader side to side. Very nice!
