  I`m working to improve the cas iron alloy used for rolling mills , does anyone  have information about this , also on white cast iron

The requirement for a rolling mill roll is that you have a hard working surface and a soft core. Hence the surface to a certain  depth is white and the core is grey. With NiHard as a material,it will be difficult to achieve this property.Maybe at the best alloy the chilled  layer to get better wear properties
