Storage Rack Braceing

Storage Rack Braceing

Storage Rack Braceing

(OP)
Is there a specific requirement for bracing of storage racks based on seismic design categories, similar to anchorage of mechanical equipment? I'm thinking in specific SDC, bracing is not required and in higher SDC it is. I've skimmed through the RMI but it looks like that is more for the design of the racks, not for bracing based on SDC.

RE: Storage Rack Braceing

ASCE 7-10 1.4.3 under General Structure Integrity, requires that all structures be analyzed for lateral effects regardless of SDC. The Design force = 1% of the structures dead load.
