Interior Warehouse Fans?

Interior Warehouse Fans?

Interior Warehouse Fans?

(OP)
Do interior warehouse fans impose a load other than their own dead weight? I'm referring to large industrial versions of the type of typical ceiling fan that are in many people's homes. Thanks.

RE: Interior Warehouse Fans?

I would imagine an additional downward load depending on the direction it is turning. If it is moving air up, it is pushing down (mass per second x velocity) Also, a load due to wobble if it becomes unbalanced.

Yeah, those sound significant. And I don't know the answers at this point...

RE: Interior Warehouse Fans?

well generally they are designed to minimize wobble or unbalanced loading. Once they get dirty enough they develop a slight wobble but nothing overly appreciable. The amount of air they are moving probably doesn't contribute as much as you are thinking. These aren't providing an appreciable downdraft so I wouldn't be overly concerned. Also I would bet that they are pushing air down not moving air up which would lead to a general uplift on the unit itself and it would be conservative to neglect it
