thread311-351107: SACS
i am new user of sacs software, then i have some questions,
PLease any response that could help me a lot,
1.how can we define the center of gravity of a structure on the software?
Thanks in advance

RE: Sacs

I am not a user of Sacs but I would have thought the software would calculate it from the member information you enter for the structure

RE: Sacs

there is 2 ways to get this info.:
1-you can get it by going to sacs modeler > load tab > self weight button under general section > a menu pops up > at load condition choose the dead load condition > check yes at show sum of force > a menu pops up showing the total dead weight and the coordinates of the center.

2-or you can find the coordinates after you run analysis at the file named "saclst".
open it > click search button > search for center of gravity.

hope this help you
