Well, DNV Ship Rules gives you formulae you just plug numbers into. Part 3, Chapter 1, Section 4B, Ship Motions and Accelerations.

Noble Denton uses a prescribed amplitude and period, and the accelerations are determined using simple harmonic motion. You can read up on the theory online.
