How to model beam on elastic foundation in ABAQUS?

(OP)
I am trying to model a simple 2D beam on elastic foundation in Abaqus. How to do this in ABAQUS? Any ideas or comments? Thanks in advance.

RE: How to model beam on elastic foundation in ABAQUS?

Dear oesa:

It is possible to define spring in each node (divide the beam into a number of nodes previously). The problem is if you have tensiones (uplifts). I think sap2000 is easier to perform this analysis.

Go to the interaction module and define an elastic foundation. You have to be in the initial step to apply this.
