Mirror Symettry Boundary Conditions

Mirror Symettry Boundary Conditions

Mirror Symettry Boundary Conditions

(OP)
I have created a half model of an entirely symmetrical balcony on Abaqus and I need to mirror all of it (including loads, constraints etc.) about the xy plane at the support. I know that I need to use boundary conidtions somehow, but I don't know which ones, or how. And how do I reflect the loads?

RE: Mirror Symettry Boundary Conditions

Model the symmetry planes as imposed displacement / rotations:
- No displacement perpendicular to symm. plane
- No rotations (shell / beams only) along 2 axis in the symm. Plane
Example: XY symm. Plane => B.C => U3 = UR1 = UR2 =0
