How to export coordinates of points

How to export coordinates of points

(OP)
Hi to everyone,
I am quite new to the use of UG and I need some help.

Practically, I need to export in exel or text file the coordinates of some points which i have selected on an existing part.

Can anyone help me?

RE: How to export coordinates of points

Attached is a GRIP program which will allow you to select up to 1,000 points in a file and then write the X,Y,Z coordinates to a text file using a 'comma-delimted' format which will make it easy to import into an Excel spreadsheet.

After downloading the file, edit the file extension, changing '.zipper' to '.zip' and then extract the files. I've included both the source and executable. If you open the source file (.grs) there will be instructions on how to use the program in the program description area.

Dear John,
Thank you for the quick answer.

Excuse my ignorance, but how can I use the program you attached me? Must I open it in some way within the UG environment?

RE: How to export coordinates of points

You may not have a license to execute GRIP but just in case, with your part file open, go to...

File -> Execute -> GRIP...

...and select the file with the '.grx' extension.
