ASME Section VIII Div 1 and Brazilian NR-13

ASME Section VIII Div 1 and Brazilian NR-13

(OP)
Good Day All,

This has been touched on in some old posts, but I think I have a bit of a different question. I will be designing some heat exchangers (shell and tube, steam on shell side) for some work in Brazil. My hope is that if I get the heat exchangers designed per ASME Section VIII Div 1, it will simply be a matter of paperwork with a Brazilian engineering firm to get the NR-13 requirements completed. Two questions I guess...

1. Does ASME translate into NR-13 easily
2. Does the NR-13 certification have to be done prior to shipment of the equipment into Brazil (we will be shipping from the USA) or can it be done while the equipment is being installed prior to startup?

Thank you for your thoughts.

RE: ASME Section VIII Div 1 and Brazilian NR-13

you better talk to our Brazilian Eng firm.
don't rely on internet advise if you will still be looking for an engineer out there anyways.
