I'm working on a project at the moment to make a multi-use confetti-shooting timer which fits in the bottom of a salad bowl. I think I'm going to use a compressed gas can from a boat emergency horn along with some timers and an air solenoid, and maybe a 3d-printed enclosure / launcher nozzle. So far I've had good luck finding components.

One sticking point ... the compressed gas canister from the boat horn has an odd threaded valve on it, which I have managed to identify as a lindall B188. This seems to be commonly used with gas canisters for camping stoves too. I'd like to have a needle valve which threads/seals onto my canister and allows me to change out canisters & depressurize the solenoid supply when not in use.

Anyone know where I can source a valve like this?

RE: confetti timer toy

Is it a one-off, or going into mass production?

If it's a one-off (as hinted by the 3D printer), then extract the parts from a sacrificial boat emergency horn.

RE: confetti timer toy

You should be able to find a used stove on ebay or garage sale.

RE: confetti timer toy

Scavaging from an old camp stove might be possible as well, though perhaps more expensive or hard to find.

It's a one-off.

The emergency horn doesn't have a fitting which will allow a hose connection, they all seem to go straight to a button/horn. I've bought one as a donor for a bottle.

In the interim I've cut the valve out of my own backpacking stove (I will reinstall it later I think) but I would like to have an additional valve to make both things "complete" items when it's done. I haven't looked for an old camp stove, but I suspect that if they're available w/working valve they'll be more expensive than I was hoping - I'd like to have this additional valve for around $10 if possible.

RE: confetti timer toy

Refrigerant cans available at the auto part store seem to use the same fitting. Hose set with valve would also be available there.

checked ... different size

to clarify, this one is 7/16-28 (UNEF) thread, whereas the a/c ones are something with a larger diameter.
