Metal to metal seal - triple offset butterfly valve

Metal to metal seal - triple offset butterfly valve

Metal to metal seal - triple offset butterfly valve

(OP)
In triple offset butterfly valve, the laminate seal will scrubbing the metal seat and make lots of scratches on the surface.

The scratches will cause leakage problem and shorten the valve service time.

To extend the service life of the valve, we need to increase the anti-wear capability of the seat material.

Here are the methods available to treat the seat.

1 HVOF spray stellite
2. Weld cladding stellite
3. Nitrided seat surface

I want to know which method is the best for seat treatment to prolong the seat surface life, or maybe you have other suggestions to this topic

Thanks

Bao2ye

RE: Metal to metal seal - triple offset butterfly valve

Spray stellite is the easist to apply, if being honest a new valve is required to be purchased with a wear resisatnt coating in place at time of machining. The seat up and machine time required to cnduct this scope of work would be very high
