TEDDS masonry design

Hello,

Is there anybody using TEDDS for BS 5628? I'm just wondering why the values of fk in TEDDS are different with BS 5628. Any comment(s) will be greatly appreciated.

RE: TEDDS masonry design

Can you give an example of the differences you obsererve? Or can you upload the Tedds file? We have Tedds in our offices and I've not seen this issue before (although I dont use Tedds often).

Hello patswfc,

Pls. see attached screenshot, I'm just wondering why in Table 2a in BS 5628, the value of fk = 5.8 N/mm2 for 20 N/mm2,type iii mortar, whereas in TEDDS the value of the same is fk=5.0, I've tried different compressive strength for 15, 20, 35 ,50 and still the value doesnt match-up with TEDDS.

Probably, any technical staff from the developer of this software can shed light on this matter.

RE: TEDDS masonry design

If you look at the column to the left of the 20N brick in the table, there is the 15N brick.
Look down and the fk for mortar designation III = 5.00N/mm^2.
Could it be that the programmers have just mis-read the value, ie glanced at the adjacent column by mistake?

I think people from CSC should further explain this,or, if it is an error, they should correct it.
