Cube nuts?

Cube nuts?

Cube nuts?

(OP)
I bought a PCB that came with some cube nuts that were threaded in two directions at 90 degrees so they could be used as a kind of bracket to hold the board in place in a metal U-bracket. I lost them and figured I could easily find a replacement. I think the size of the threads were something like M3, but I cannot find them in a web search for "cube nuts" is there another name I should search by, or are these not common?

RE: Cube nuts?

I work around a lot of cube nuts.

I have never heard the term for a piece of hardware. Is it some type of standoff?

Yeah, I need to houseclean for sure, but if I can find a good supply of them, they would be useful for other projects. =)

RE: Cube nuts?

Richco makes these for mounting PCBs:Link but the overalls are even bigger than the part in the link you posted.

Thanks for the link. Those look nice too, maybe for a different board design.

RE: Cube nuts?

Get some more from whereever you go the first ones.

RE: Cube nuts?

I've just got hand tools and a drill press, but I think I'd make my own because it would be faster than identifying the component and trying to find a source. Did you lose some of them or all of them? Contact manufacturer?
