RE: What is the function of lead sheathed on N2XSEKBY cable

The lead sheath provided in these cables performs the mechanical function of acting as a barrier to entry of Hydrocarbons.
Excellent oil and chemical resistance
Excellent sulfides resistance
-Electrostatic shielding
In addition, Lead Sheath of Cables can also be engaged to perform the electrical function of sharing the earth fault current with the armour[Fault current carrying capability].
Lead Sheath also protects cables against radial moisture ingress(eliminating water treeing in insulation)
Recommended for the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical sector.
