Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

(OP)
Dear friends,

Thanks for enter the post, but I need help because I don't know what is happening in my CATIA program.
I'm working in a company that now needs to work with CATIA and due that I know how to use the software, now I'm the responsible for this section.

We are doing aeronautical hoses, it is very simple. I started 2 weeks ago doing each piece in each CATPart for after add all in an "Assembly design" and make an unique CATProduct with all this CATPart's.

The problem is that as soon as I add the CATPart's to the CATProduct's they are agreed to tree but I didn't see anything on the screen, the parts are added but I can't work with them because I can't see on the product.

I think that is bullshit but I don't know what is happening.

Anyone can help me?

Thanks to all!

Dear all,

1.- I save the CATproduct in the same folder as CATparts.
2.- I made click on "Product1"(Name by default on the tree).
3.- Then I made click on "Existing component"
4.- I select on my pc the CATPart for add to product.
5.- The CATPart is added because I see on the tree, but I can't see the piece on the CATIA.

For example if I made right-click on the part and go to "Part1.1.object -> open in new windows..." then, I can see the CATPart because is the same as I open an only CATPArt and work with it.
But as soon as I close it and go back to the CATProduct, the piece is invisible(but continues on the tree).

I don't know what is happening.

Thanks 4all for the answers I'm trying different methods but nowadays I don't solved it.

Hello Micr00,

check the value of the setting Pixel Culling Static (try a 0 value) in Tools>Options>Display>Performance
Also set at least one the planes xy, yz, zx in show mode and zoom to the point it will appear.

I hope it helps.

Dear all,

GELFS, I made it but the problem persists, I continue without seen the pieces. Also the geometry is activated.

itsmyjob, when I use the "File-> Open" I can see the item in the "Show Preview", in the case of the CATPart. In the case of the CATProduct I didn't see anything.

UPDATE: When I add a CATpart to the tree, it adds a sub-tree called with the name of the CATpart and also appears a (+) on the left of the name. If you click on it you will see the geometry, planes, etc. In my case as soon as I made click on this (+) it dissapears and only lefts the name of the Part. I think that CATIA doesn't recognizes the item or something similar :(

Best regards,
Jonathan

RE: Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

For me the icon in your Spec Tree seems to be (from that document mention earlier):

Part_with_DeactivatedR epresentation - The representation of this part is deactivated. This symbol (in CATIA Spec Tree) means the geometric representation is deactivated. Before opening a document, you choose the activate or deactivate Shape representation in Tools->Options->Infrastructure , select the Product Structure tab and check the box entitled Do not activate default shapes on open . For a particular instance in the document, you can deactivate or activate it by selecting the Representations -> Deactivate Node / Activate Node contextual commands.

By the way, link is not working.

Fernando

RE: Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

Hello Micr00,

By opening the product CATIA informed me that the CATPart file could not be found. I used the File Desk command and by right-click on the MTS_Ball.CATPart I choosed find ... . The instance of MTS_Ball appeared in Geometry Area.
Try it.

Oh my god it's perfect!!!! now it works!!!!!! thanks to all!!!!!

Now I added 2 CATPart's, and the "Constraints" Menu is disabled, how can I do for work with the CATParts and make coincidence with them and make a real assembly design? :S

THANKS TO ALL!!!! MANY MANY THANKS!!! :D

RE: Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

(OP)
But in this case why I can "play" with the pieces for make coincidence in one face(for example), is normal this situation?

RE: Problem with visibility in Assembly Design(Product)

(OP)
I solved it adding all pieces at same time.

THANKS TO ALL FOR ALL HELPS!!!!
