Use a static solution to apply a pre-stress for a transient solution in APDL

(OP)
Hello,
Can someone give me some advice on how to use a static solution to apply a pre-stress to a transient solution?

After running the static solution I've then typed:

Finish
/sol
antype, transient, restart

It then tells me it can't find the .rnnn file. Even though I've used rescontrol in the first static solution to tell it to save the final result for a restart.

Am I going about it the right way? Do I even need to perform a restart? Would someone be able to point me in the direction of a worked example?
Thanks
