Can you do a background image on every sheet of you MathCAD file. Smath allows us to do this but it does not have near the capabilities as MathCAD. See attached image from SMATH. This is our image is on all of our paper so I want it electronically on all MathCAD sheets

RE: MathCAD background image

you can put images in headers and footers. these would be repeated on every page. Not sure how finicky it may be, buts that's where you can start.

structSU10 was correct about placing images in the header and footer of the files. The only difficulty that you may encounter would be determining the proper size image to insert into the header and footer regions, other than that its as simple as inserting an image in Microsoft Word. I've attached a blank template that we use at our office for your reference.

Thanks, thats what I was afraid of. It can eb done just tedious to make sure everything is aligned. Smath was super simple in the fact that it woudl just let you insert the whole image at once.

RE: MathCAD background image

does MathCad position the header and footer like Word ... on a fixed position on the page ?
or at a postion relative to the text on the page ??

you can always embed your page border onto your MathCad sheet directly (i've seen it done ... must've taken a month of sundays!?)

I also like the olde school way ... print your page border in Word, then print your Mathcad on these.

or maybe just go with a header (if you use both header and footer now ... i can't open the image, 'cause my IE is, well, IE).

of course you could import the Mathcad image into Word ... even page by page ?

RE: MathCAD background image

rb,

MathCad uses a fixed position on the page. You have designated regions in the header/footer (left side of page, center of page, right side of page) that you can place an image in. You do have the option to modify location of the image vertically on the page by modifying the depth of the header and footer block however that is pretty limited as well.

As far as embedding the page boarder on the MathCad sheet directly I cannot speak to that.

RE: MathCAD background image

A solution is to print from mathcad to a pdf file.. If you have a decent pdf program you can add a background image to every page and then print to paper from here. If you want the background for a logo or something similar then this is easily the fastest route, I usually have all my calculations in different programs and files so I always have to stitch it up together into a single .pdf before printing.
