Use of WB 36 pipes for boiler application

Use of WB 36 pipes for boiler application

(OP)
Does anybody has information on the use of WB 36 (Werkstuff no. 1.6368) in boiler application?

RE: Use of WB 36 pipes for boiler application

Please do not cross post. This material is not permitted for power boiler application in the US.

RE: Use of WB 36 pipes for boiler application

See Code Case 2353 for Section I. Based on this Code Case you can use WB36-pipes (not plates!) but you have to purchase, design, weld, postweld heat treat etc. according to this Code Case. There are quite many special requirements for manufacturing when using this grade.
Actually this material can be found in SA-335 as grade P36 but accepted for boiler use only via referred Code Case. And advantages of using this material are not so big as when EN-standard is followed because of ASME's higher safety factor to tensile strength.
