Urgent issue in Kinematics

Urgent issue in Kinematics

Urgent issue in Kinematics

(OP)
hi,

I have an urgent issue in Kinematics in an four bar mechanism Please help me out. I want to define a law with the below formula :

theta = theta1 + omega * t + 1/2 ( alpha * t^2 )

where theta is the fundtion to be measured

theta1 = angle at the starting point.

omega = ang.velocity of the bar ( 4 deg/s )

alpha = angular accelaration ( 1 deg/sec^2 )

t = time

this is a four bar mechanism and we are trying to measure the speed and accelaration of the slider in this mechanism.

The issue is CATIA is not recognising the formula when we try to simulate using laws.

Awaiting your reply at the earliest.

RE: Urgent issue in Kinematics

you have to define

theta1 as angle
omega as pulsation
alpha as angular acceleration

then feed the equation like :
Theta1 +omega *Mechanism.1\KINTime +alpha *Mechanism.1\KINTime *Mechanism.1\KINTime

et voila:

RE: Urgent issue in Kinematics

be carefull about the unit define in tools options general parameter and measure / units... default pulsation or angular accel might not be in deg per time (square).
