Machine surface finish for sheetmetal

Machine surface finish for sheetmetal

Machine surface finish for sheetmetal

(OP)
I have sheet metal assembly drawing contains Piece part and assembly details. In four places Self-Clinching Fasteners is getting assembled. After assembly the head of the screw is slightly protruding outside the surface. Does it violate surface finish? As it contains Machine surface finish 125 in the drawing block. Sheet thickness is .1 inch.

RE: Machine surface finish for sheetmetal

In my opinion it does not, because the surface finish applies to only machined surfaces.

There are other forums within eng-tips that you should get a better response.
