backup for concentrated load assumption
backup for concentrated load assumption
(OP)
For years we have gone under the assumption when temporarily supporting beams at a distance less than d/2, if welded bearing stiffeners existed between load and end of beam, that d/2 or near end of beam did not apply. We have recently been asked to supply backup for our assumption. Can anyone help?

RE: backup for concentrated load assumption
I associate d/2 with concrete but you have welded stiffeners so it must be steel.
