Dilemma about the rotation of GEC dc motor
Dilemma about the rotation of GEC dc motor
(OP)
Hello everyone,
I have working on reparation of all main poles 260kW DC motor *frame size QMS 500/800* and I have a great unknown about the direction of rotation of this electric motors . We finally got a part of the original certificates of the motor, but for rotation at non drive end instead of the standard term clockwise or anti clockwise it writes Jog Reverse.
As English is not my native language I need a little help what jog reverse means.
Thanks in advance !

RE: Dilemma about the rotation of GEC dc motor
jog reverse means rotating in small increments in the revers direction ie iF you had a crane motor jog reverse would be used to move the crane in small steps (jog) when close to the object.
I am afraid this doesn't tell us what the direction of rotation is unfortunately.

Jog; The motor only runs while the jog button is depressed. May be JOG(forward) or JOG REVERSE.

Waross,
disposition of the main and auxiliary poles indicates that the direction with the + polarity on the F1 and A1 connection should be oposite to the normal direction * normal is anti clockwise * looking at the side of the collector .
Am I right ...
Information from motor owner and some papers from other overhaul Workshops intake a little confusion for me .
