Is there a way to permanently pin open layers in UG/NX9
Is there a way to permanently pin open layers in UG/NX9
(OP)
I am a marine design engineer. I work in NX9 everyday.
I think being able to keep the layers window open during modeling commands would make the process easier.
I have tried going through the settings and I can quite find anything that allows me to do this.
Is there a way to do this? Any tips?

We were on NX3 the last time I worked there.

To the Toolmaker, your nice little cartoon drawing of your glass looks cool, but your solid model sucks. Do you want me to fix it, or are you going to take all week to get it back to me so I can get some work done?

There is no way to do this but it is not enough for you to change the work layer like this ?

It is the binoculars icon.
In NX7.5 it is located under Help->Command Finder
but I have no idea where to look in NX9

You can activate in the Part Navigator the Layer Column. Then you directly see on which Layer the object is.
Sketches can directly be moved to an other layer: mb3 on Sketch -> Move to Layer. Or use on Datum or Sketch mb3 -> Object Display.
To keep the Layer Settings window active all the time (when modeling) is not possible i think.

And for jerry1423, in NX 9.0 the 'Command Finder' is now a permanent part of the NX UI:
In other words, we've made it EASY to 'find' the 'Command Finder'
