Nx9 custom radial toolbars?
Nx9 custom radial toolbars?
(OP)
Is there any way to define additional radial toolbars and assign own shortcut keys to show them?
I got myself a new mouse (2D) that gives me 9 additional fully programmable buttons that can be reached with the fingers effortlessly (which is not necessarily the case with the buttons of the 3d mouse I use).
It would be so great to assign additional radial toolbars to these buttons instead of assigning single commands directly to the buttons. The radial toolbars act like a preview until the gestures are memorized (which is really a huge advantage over a direct command assignment to a button!!!) and then they multiply the amount of available shortcut commands by 6! These things are really unimaginable useful and super fast and easy to use when assigned directly to a physical button press on the mouse! I would just love to define as much of these bars as I need and not be limited to have just 3 of them.
The UI doesn't seem to support it but maybe it is possible to create more using tbr, men files or what ever format is used. No fear to get my hands dirty. I just need a hint on where to dig. Hopefully they are not entirely hard coded right now.

Hopefully you guys think about it for future versions. Combined with todays peripherials the radial shortcuts are a great alternative to kbd-shortcuts.
And while talking about UI enhancements/improvements:
It would be great if we could use the mouse wheel to switch the ribbon tab in full screen mode after bringing it up with the alt-key. The classic toolbar UI had this functionality for the toolbars. I'm sure I am not the only one missing it.
RE: Nx9 custom radial toolbars?
In NX 9.0, in addition to the 'Full Screen' mode, there is an new less-drastic way of working with a larger effective graphics window and that is something called the 'Minimize Ribbon' mode. You can activate it by selecting the [^] icon found in the upper Right corner of the NX window. In this mode the Ribbon is reduced to just a series of headers but unlike in the 'Full Screen' mode, the Resource Bar as well that the various border bars are retained and are directly accessible. And again, if you select any one of the Ribbon headers you can then use the 'Mouse Wheel' to scroll through the Ribbon tabs. To get back to the normal mode just select the 'Expand Ribbon' icon which is shown as [v]. Note that you can also just select the F12 key which toggles you back-n-forth between the 'Minimize' and 'Expand' modes.
