Reuse library with teamcenter

Reuse library with teamcenter

Reuse library with teamcenter

(OP)
- Our current hardware library is set up with the use of template files. Parts from these template files are saved in a specific folder (say, C:/hardware)
- We are now moving towards the reuse library and have created brand new template files to be used in the reuse library. Parts from these reuse files have the same part names as those in the old template files.
- When attempting to add a part using the new reuse library to an assembly we get the error “Family member part found is not from the desired part family”. We figured this is cause of the conflict between old hardware parts and new hardware parts having the same name. By removing the folder C:/hardware from our assembly load options we were able to use the reuse library successfully.

- The problem is when we move into the teamcenter environment. How do we solve the same problem within teamcenter? We were thinking of assigning revisions to the parts (rev 00 to the old parts and rev 01 to the new parts). Will this solve our problem? Or will we HAVE TO have different names for the old parts and new?

Thanks and Regards
Luke
