Always dross on fiber laser ermaksan 2kw

Always dross on fiber laser ermaksan 2kw

(OP)
I'm an old operator of a plasma machine and I just changed my seat for the seat of our newest machine. A fiber laser 2kw ermaksan. Well I'm a newbie on the laser. What a world of difference. First I love laser way to think, I feel useful and use my brain to obtain the result. I'm crazy about laser....but still a newbie. I just found your site, thanks ..thanks ...thanks. I read a lot of your comments and felt I could get a lot of help here. Sorry for my mistaken words....I'm a french frog from Quebec. :)

Now my main problem is on almost all kinds of materiels but focusing on 11 ga and 7 ga stainless (200 series). I'm still trying to understand my parameters to adjust...power, pressure , focal....etc...The thing is now I can't try almost anymore my learning because after a foot the laser don't go throught the materiel. I slow down the feedrate and do the same thing, When it's cold the first piece with the power 1750 is not too bad but if I let go more piece the dross appear heavier and heavier and bang no cut. Sparks blue everywhere . We just change the focal lens last week (first I though I was 200$ but later my boss came and said to me you better learn fast because $2000 every week is not good). Well the $200 was the shipping. Wo ho ho...I need your help. What can stress a lens if it's the lens? Can it be something else?

RE: Always dross on fiber laser ermaksan 2kw

As-tu essaye d'appeler Ermaksan?

Did you try to call Ermaksan? If the machine is new, training should be included with the machine installation.
Does the gas pressure remain stable at the cutting head? Does the cutting head follow the material properly (distance between nozzle and material constant)?
Could be a cooling issue; make sure the cooling of the cutting head is OK. Most machines have a temperature sensor in the cutting head; not sure about Ermaksan.
It is also possible there is a loss of power. To check this, a qualified technician should come in and measure the power at the head. Warning; fiber lasers are very dangerous (a lot more dangerous than CO2 lasers) and this test should only be done by a qualified technician.

Thanks Foostrap for answering. I've been surprise with your french.
Ok one of the engeneer of Ermaksan is comming monday and I can't wait to see him.The first one thought I asked too much question. This one is gone have a headach.
Ok the last one...what flycut is useful to. Feedrate is very fast.
