Explosion in View

Explosion in View

Explosion in View

(OP)
I have an assembly that I am making drawings for in NX8.5
After making a plan view and some section views, I decided I needed to show an explosion in the plan view.
I went back to the modeling side and added an explosion.
I can't get the view in drafting to update to show the explosion.
If I create a new view the explosion shows.
Do I have to delete the existing plan view and the dependent section views and recreate them all?

RE: Explosion in View

Bbefore you create the explosion in a view be sure to save in under a differnt name, typically I use "Explosion" for the view name, then bring that newly named view into your drawing.
View -> Operation -> save as (enter new name)

I hope this will fix your issue.

OK, but what about updating my existing view of the explosion?

RE: Explosion in View

For the moment, Exploded views MUST be created in a view belonging to the Drawing file itself. Even though you create an Exploded view in the Master Model Assembly and even though you can see that named view when you're adding views to your drawing from that Master Model Assembly, the exploded positions will NOT be carried across to the new Drawing view. This is a known limitation of NX Drafting and is being investigated for a future project to resolve this issue.
