Question about mirrored parts in assemblies to BOM table

Question about mirrored parts in assemblies to BOM table

Question about mirrored parts in assemblies to BOM table

(OP)
Hello,

I often use the assembly mirror feature to quickly add parts symmetrically to a the basic planes. Sometimes these are created as opposite hand versions - sometimes they are just duplicate parts which saves time and resources creating mates. When propagating to the BOM these parts often show up as separate items with blank cells. When right clicking the cell and opening the parts, they are pointing to the mirrored part ex ( mirrorpart -blah blah ).

Is there a way in which to tell the BOM to list the mirrored part as simply a second ( duplicate ) part and increase the quantity ? If it is a true opposite hand version - to make a " mirrored " declaration in the description? Any API work would be over my head - just curious if this a standard hassle with some sort of work around.
