Correct drawing standard for electrical cables drawings
Correct drawing standard for electrical cables drawings
(OP)
I am looking for the correct standard to call out for drawings of electrical cable. The component drawing showing cable pin connections and assembly drawing showing connector assy to cable.
Current drawings have ASME Y14.5 referenced but I'm not sure thats right,I think IEEE 315 should be referenced.
To be clear these are not signal or data cables but large 120, 208V 3 phase cables.
Input and answers are greatly appreciated!!
thanks!

RE: Correct drawing standard for electrical cables drawings
It boils down to what you need to produce; a "schematic" type drawing, or a "picture" type drawing.
forum1103: Drafting Standards, GD&T & Tolerance Analysis would be a good place to ask this type of question.
