Pressure ratings for TriClamp Ferrules

Pressure ratings for TriClamp Ferrules

Pressure ratings for TriClamp Ferrules

(OP)
My ASME inspector seems to think that these sanitary ferrules need pressure ratings per sec.VIII div.1. I know that ASME pressure rated clamps are available but what about the fitting itself. His concern is the flanged portion. Has anyone had similar issues?

RE: Pressure ratings for TriClamp Ferrules

Talk to Dixon (Bradford Sanitary Fittings) They have ASME certified material for Tank Ferrules. They probably have pressure and temperature limiting data for the ferrules as well as the joints.

Check out ASME VIII-1 Mandatory Appendix 24.
There are formulas and you can work out the stresses.
